Roy C. Laverick Sr. – Monongahela

Roy C. Laverick Sr., 85, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, in the Havencrest Nursing Home, Monongahela. He was born April 25, 1933, in West Elizabeth, the son of Stephen H. and Alice Mehrmann Laverick.​ Roy retired from Local 66 Operating Engineers where he was employed for over 50 years. Throughout his career, he had taught numerous people how to properly run heavy equipment. Roy loved to fish and was a former member of the Mon Valley Fishing Club in West Virginia.​ Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Eileen Streyle Laverick, with whom he celebrated 43 years of marriage on Dec. 19, 2018; three daughters, Kimberly Laverick of Elizabeth, Jamie Laverick of Charleston, S.C., Luann “Boo” Pildner and husband Dale of Erie; stepdaughter, Donna Humberson of Florida; two stepsons, Daryl and Donald Smichnick, both of Virginia; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; brother, Bob Laverick and wife Pat of Elizabeth; and sister, Alice Bedsworth of Clairton.​ In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Roy C. Laverick Jr., a brother and five sisters.​ Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2019. at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela.
