A Port Vue man who police said had more than 600 doses of fentanyl, a fully automatic rifle and body armor was arrested Thursday by narcotics agents.
Devante Gardlock, 32, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possessing instruments of crime and endangering the welfare of children.
He is being held at the Allegheny County Jail on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 25.
According to a criminal complaint, agents with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office went to Gardlock’s home in Port Vue to serve several search warrants around 10:45 a.m. Thursday.
Shortly before 11 a.m., Gardlock left his home, and officers detained him.
While searching Gardlock, agents found 140 baggies of fentanyl, stamped “Its Done,” as well as two cell phones and a wallet containing $2,050, the criminal complaint said.
Gardlock then provided the keys to his house, the complaint continued. Agents said they found Gardlock’s 7-year-old daughter alone inside.
The search revealed a loaded, 40-caliber handgun under the living room couch, 11 bricks of fentanyl, ammunition and two bags of marijuana, police said.
Gardlock admitted to police that he sold fentanyl and had several other “presumably stolen” firearms at his aunt’s house in Clairton that were traded to him for fentanyl.
When agents went to that home, Gardlock’s aunt consented to a search and directed officers to a closet, the complaint said.
Inside, they said they found a fully automatic rifle, 700 rounds of ammunition, a ballistic vest, a .357 revolver and another rifle.
