Man shot multiple times during suspected robbery attempt

Allegheny County police are investigating what they said was a robbery that turned into a shooting early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the 800 block of Jenny Lind Street just before 1 a.m. following reports of shots being heard by a sensor.

When officials arrived on the scene, they said a man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and is last said to be in stable condition.

Preliminary information shows that the victim was shot while trying to rob another person.
