Following the tremendous success of the first Summer on Main Block Party, downtown Monongahela is preparing for another evening of shopping, live entertainment, food and community fun from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The June event drew hundreds of residents and visitors to Main Street, where local businesses welcomed shoppers, vendors lined the streets, and families enjoyed an evening celebrating everything downtown Monongahela has to offer. Organizers are looking to build on that momentum with an even bigger event in July.
Hosted by the Women In Business Mon Valley, the July Summer on Main Block Party will once again feature local businesses staying open late, a wide variety of street vendors, food and beverage options, and opportunities to shop and support small businesses throughout downtown.
A highlight of the evening will be live music sponsored by cfsbank, whose support helps make the community celebration possible. Attendees will enjoy performances by The Valley Three from 4 to 6 p.m. and from Kemical Kemileon from 4 to 8 p.m., bringing high-energy entertainment to Main Street throughout the evening.
“We were thrilled by the incredible turnout and support we saw at our first Summer on Main Block Party,” said Olivia Walker. “The excitement throughout downtown was exactly what these events are meant to create. We’re grateful to cfsbank for sponsoring the music and helping us continue building an event that supports our businesses while bringing the community together.”
The Summer on Main Block Party continues to showcase the strength of Monongahela’s downtown by encouraging residents and visitors alike to discover local shops, restaurants and entrepreneurs while enjoying an evening filled with entertainment and community spirit.
Organizers also encourage everyone to mark their calendars for the final Summer on Main Block Party of the season on Aug. 13, which will conclude another successful summer of celebrating downtown Monongahela and the businesses that make it thrive.
