Fire damages Monessen house

Firefighters quickly contained a structure fire on Pacific Boulevard in Monessen Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to the scene after a passerby spotted the flames and called for help.

The Monessen No. 1 Fire Department said crews knocked down the fire and prevented it from spreading.

In addition to Monessen No. 1 and Monessen Hilltop, assisting were firefighters from Charleroi, North Belle Vernon, Bentleyville, Rostraver Township, Fallowfield and Gallatin Sunnyside.

No injuries were reported.
