Fayette Gives campaign to benefit 107 nonprofits
Since Fayette Gives began, the countywide day of giving has raised more than $3.1 million for nonprofits serving Fayette County.
For one day in November, Fayette County residents will have a chance to turn a $25 gift into something larger for the nonprofits that feed families, support children, care for seniors and strengthen communities across the county.
The Community Foundation of Fayette County will host its seventh annual Fayette Gives campaign from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 5 at fayettegives. org.
This year’s campaign will include 107 participating nonprofits and a 10% increase on eligible donations, giving donors an added incentive to support local organizations.
Since Fayette Gives began, the countywide day of giving has raised more than $3.1 million for nonprofits serving Fayette County.
Jessica Hajek-Bates, chief executive officer of the Community Foundation of Fayette County, said the event is designed to make giving simple, especially for residents who want to support more than one organization.
“While online giving takes place only on November 5, donors can support their favorite nonprofits right now through gifts by check, donor advised fund, stock transfer, or IRA charitable distribution,” Hajek-Bates said. “Fayette Gives makes it easy to support multiple organizations through one convenient charitable gift.”
Donors who prefer to give by check may submit one contribution to the foundation with a completed Check Contribution Form listing the nonprofits they want to support. Forms are available online at fayettegives.org and at the foundation’s office, 250 W. Main St. in Uniontown.
All donations must be received at the foundation office by 8 p.m. Nov. 5. The minimum donation is $25 per nonprofit.
After the campaign ends, the foundation will apply a 10% match to eligible donations, up to $10,000 per nonprofit, and distribute a single combined payment to each participating organization.
Foundation officials said all money raised through Fayette Gives stays local and supports programs and services that benefit Fayette County residents.
Ron Gabriel, chair of the Community Foundation of Fayette County board, said the annual event is about more than fundraising. It is also a way to rally the community around the organizations that often work quietly throughout the year.
“For one day each year, Fayette Gives brings our community together around a shared goal: supporting the nonprofits that improve quality of life throughout Fayette County,” Gabriel said. “Every gift, regardless of size, helps strengthen our community and create lasting impact.”
Sponsorships for the campaign are still available.
Sponsors to date include Community Sponsors The Jamieson Family, in memory of Deborah Jamieson, and The Swimmer Family; Generosity Sponsors John and Bernadette Ptak Family Fund and Specialty Conduit & Manufacturing LLC; Humanity Sponsors Erie Insurance, Nemacolin, Renew You Medi Spa and Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, Highlands Wealth Management; and Supporter First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Greene County.
