Gloria A. Alvarez Vasunda – Carroll Township

CARROLL TOWNSHIP Gloria A. Alvarez Vasunda, 81, of Carroll Township, passed away on March 19, 2026, at her home. She was born on April 20, 1944, in Monessen, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Jose and Adela Perez Alvarez. Gloria was a graduate of Monessen High School. She went on to work for Westinghouse in Large, Pa, and moved on to Westinghouse in Jacksonville, Fla. She then went to work for Toyota Southeast as the executive secretary to the president. Upon retirement, she moved back to care for her mother and sister. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church. She was a supporter of many charities. She is survived by her brother, Antonio “Tony” (Joyce) Alvarez of Rostraver Township; sister-in-law, Lena (Herman) Alvarez of Monessen; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph “Speed” Alvarez and Herman Alvarez; and two sisters, Marie (Alvarez) Mull and Adela E. Alvarez.
