Valley woman charged with assault

By TAYLOR BROWN, Senior Reporter

A Donora woman is being held without bond after police say she assaulted her elderly father and urinated on a police officer after being arrested over the weekend.

Molina Fleming, 51, is charged with assault of a law enforcement officer, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct and harassment stemming from an alleged incident Saturday.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, police were called to a residence on South McKean Avenue after a man called 911 to report his 74-year-old neighbor was lying on his porch covered in blood with abrasions and welts on his face, head and neck.

The man told police he was attacked by his daughter, Fleming, who he said repeatedly punched him in the face with a closed fist. He said after he fell to the ground and began crawling toward the door, she jumped on his back, continued to strike him and threatened to kill him.

He told officers he eventually made it outside to the porch while she continued hitting him. He was then able to cross the street, crawl up his neighbor’s steps and knock on the door for help.

Inside the home, police reported finding blood on the concrete floor and on the bottom of the screen door.

Fleming was taken into custody. Police said that while in a holding cell, she threw toilet paper across the floor and repeatedly banged her head against the wall.

She was transported to Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital for medical clearance prior to being taken to jail. While at the hospital, she repeatedly attempted to call an operator and asked to speak with the FBI, the affidavit states.

Police said she resisted arrest, requiring officers to use a reasonable amount of force to restrain her and place her in handcuffs. While being escorted to a patrol vehicle, she allegedly urinated on herself and on the leg of the arresting officer.

Fleming is being held in Washington County Correctional Facility without bond after authorities determined she posed a flight risk and based on police recommendation. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Jan. 21 before Magisterial District Judge Mark Wilson in Monongahela.
