Renziehausen Park’s Jacob Woll Pavilion will be converted into a village of Christmas trees this week, which is a longstanding holiday tradition in McKeesport.
The Festival of Trees, presented by the City of McKeesport and the McKeesport Recreation Board, will run from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
The annual holiday festival, which has been a tradition for nearly four decades, is expected to feature dozens of creatively decorated Christmas trees.
Those who visit the festival will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite trees in multiple categories. Local organizations decorate trees for the event.
The event also features live music and visits from Santa.
The Garden Club of McKeesport will decorate trees and sell Christmas decorations at its clubhouse. The McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center will also be decorated for the season, and volunteers and staff will be serving free popcorn and hot chocolate to keep everyone cozy while exploring the museum.
The museum will also have basket raffles for adults, a free children’s raffle and the Christmas Fleatique, open every day during the Festival of Trees.
Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Monday during the festival.
Each year, Mayor Michael Cherepko describes the Festival of Trees as a great way to spread holiday cheer while being active in the McKeesport community.
