A couple is facing felony charges after a 2-year-old overdosed from cocaine and fentanyl in Monessen.
Sable Ford, 36, and Travis Lee Holmes, 33, of Linden Avenue, were both charged with endangering the welfare of children, intent to possess a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal conspiracy.
According to the Westmo reland County District At- torney’s Office, Monessen police reported to a home on Oct. 4 after receiving reports of a child overdosing.
Police said they interviewed Sable Ford, 36, and Travis Holmes, who allegedly told police the child found a baggie in the front yard and put the baggie in its mouth. After the child started showing symptoms of an overdose and went limp, the two took the child to the hospital. Medical staff also told investigators they suspected fentanyl exposure.
When officers traveled to their residence they found blue glassine baggies, a smoking pipe, two stamp bags, a scale, several other small baggies with a powder residue and a case of THC cartridges when searching the home. A field test of the white residue allegedly
identified the substance as cocaine, police said.
Ford and Holmes are both being held in the Westmo reland County Prison on $50,000 bond.
They are both scheduled for preliminary hearings Dec. 5 before Magisterial District Judge Wayne Vlasic in Monessen.
