Elsie J. Horan – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Elsie J. Horan, 94, of Rostraver Township, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025. Born in Price dale on Nov. 30, 1930, Elsie was a daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Beato Lewis. Elsie retired from Brookvale Manufacturing in Monessen and also worked at Zelinski’s Bridal Shoppe in Charleroi. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Elsie was also well-known for making wedding, birthday and anniversary cakes for friends and family. She is survived by her sons, Thomas D. (Lois) Horan of Greensburg and Patrick Horan of Florida; daughter, Linda Shrum of Bethel Park; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Thomas L. Horan on July 12, 2025; daughter, Donna Dolfi; son-in-law, Thomas Dolfi; and siblings, Albert (Norma) Lewis, Dorothy (James) Lucas and Carl (Ursula) Beato. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome. com, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne with the Rev. Joel Sayson presiding. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Per Elsie’s generosity and compassion toward St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorial donations in Elsie’s Memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
