Public input sought on Rostraver Township slide repair

By TAYLOR BROWN, Senior Reporter

Comments on the project can be submitted online through Aug. 24.

Rostraver Township residents have an opportunity to weigh in on planned improvements along Route 906 as PennDOT opens a virtual display for an upcoming slide repair project.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s District 12, in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration, is seeking public feedback on its 2025 Slide Repairs Project, which includes work in Rostraver Township in Westmoreland County and Amwell Township in Washington County.

In Rostraver, PennDOT plans to clean the rockfall ditch and make minor drainage improvements along Route 906, also known as Webster Road.

The project also includes work on Route 2005, or Smith Run Road, in Amwell Township. There, PennDOT plans to realign the roadway and perform stabilization work because of a slope failure.

The virtual plans display provides information about the proposed improvements, potential impacts, traffic control and anticipated project schedule.

The public comment period runs from Monday through Aug. 24.

Plans and other project information are available through PennDOT District 12’s website. Visitors can select “Projects Near You” and then the “2025 Slide Repairs Project.”

The materials will remain available online for the duration of the project.

Those who cannot access the information online or need translation or interpretation services, alternative formats or other assistance can contact PennDOT Project Manager Scott Miller at 724-439-7142 or jacmiller@pa.gov.
