The dog days of summer are here, but there’s no shortage of fun in the forecast. The Fayette County Fair wraps up today, but it’s followed by the Washington and Westmoreland county fairs. There are plenty of activities around the Valley to enjoy this weekend. The annual summer festival at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen, continues today from noon to 9 p.m. And the annual August Fun Fest will be held at Cedar Creek Park in Rostraver Township from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. White Oak Borough Community Days is today at Heritage Hill Park in White Oak starting at 11 a.m. The Saints Joachim and Anne Parish Festival is set for Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Saint Eugene Church, 3210 Liberty Way, Liberty Borough. Enjoy this beautiful stretch of weather and support these wonderful events — most of which are run by volunteers.
