Food vendors sought for NBV event

By TAYLOR BROWN, Senior Reporter

The celebration of cuisine will take place Aug. 16.

North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park just wrapped up an event last weekend, and preparations are already underway for its next celebration.

Polka in the Park, which was held Sunday, is one of the borough’s largest community events, bringing together friends and family for an afternoon of traditional entertainment and ethnic foods.

There’s always something fun happening on Graham Street, and the boroughs next event is for the foodies.

On Aug. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m., the park will welcome food vendors to share popular street foods. The festival will bring together a variety of food trucks, offering everything from savory meals to sweet treats.

Event organizer Cody Ambrose said though some trucks have secured their spots, organizers are looking for more food vendors to get involved.

“We already have … freshcut fries, rice bowls, BBQ, soft pretzels, snow cones, lemonade, wings, chicken tenders and Philly steak sandwiches,” Ambrose said. “We want to have a variety, so please make sure you have different menu items before applying.”

Spaces are limited, but there are spots still available.

“Enjoy great food, a lively atmosphere, and a fun community gathering at North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park,” Ambrose said. “Whether you’re a foodie, a family looking for an evening out or just someone who loves trying new flavors, this festival is for you.”

Food trucks and vendors can register at www. nbvpark.com/foodtruck. Registration costs $20.

A full list of vendors will be posted online when it is finalized.

“Let’s rally to bring the best bites to North Belle Vernon,” Ambrose said.
