Glaneman seeking reelection to Ringgold School Board

Gail Glaneman of Nottingham Township announced her candidacy for a Ringgold School Board director at-large seat. She has eight years’ experience on the board and is currently second vice-president and chairperson of the personnel and administration committee, according to her campaign announcement.

Glaneman and her husband, Henry, have two grown children, both of whom were educated through the Ringgold School District. During that time, she enjoyed volunteering with the PTAs, the Ringgold Marching Band, and many school musical productions. She recently retired from Barnes & Noble.

Of the many board actions over the last decade, she is most proud of the completion of the Ringgold Middle School, and the continued long-term facilities planning. Work will start soon on the renovation of the Joe Montana stadium bleachers for improved safety and accessibility.

“We need to be diligent about maintaining what facilities we now have,” she stated.

“I am passionate about elevating the culture of the district and encouraging community outreach and partnerships. Student safety is an ongoing concern, focusing on appropriate cell phone usage during school hours. I believe that Ringgold School District offers many paths to student success, with a curriculum designed for a wide range of future careers.

“This can be the most frustrating, yet the most rewarding, “volunteer” position I’ve ever had. I would appreciate your vote for an at-large director.”
