LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

The wrestling queen and the ketamine king

To the Editor:

Dumb 1: Those who voted for Trump were lied to.

He betrayed those voters.

He said he was going to make America great again, to lower prices, to get the economy in better shape, but what happened when he got to be president? He forgot all that. He was only out for himself! He just wanted the power of the presidency so he could do what he planned to do prior to running for office! It was all a ruse! Use a bunch of dummies to get the power he craved!

Dumb 2: The Republican lawmakers in Congress are a sorry lot! If they only were not so spineless, immoral, afraid of Trump, and violators of their oath to the constitution, they would be a force to reckon with in concert with the Democrats. But for now, a Republican party doesn’t exist anymore. It’s Trump’s party! The Republican party is a shadow of what it once was: a conservative party that had principles.

Trump’s shenanigans will come to a halt one day, leaving behind such economic damage and worldwide distrust that decades will have to pass before our democracy will be restored in the world.

Dumb 3: If you don’t know anything about tariffs, just remember this: Tariffs are a tax imposed by one country on products from another country, and the importing company pays this tax and passes a price increase on their products onto the consumer. Importing companies then become uneasy, which in turn affects the stock market in a negative way, which can cause inflation leading to a recession. You, the lower and middle-class consumer, will suffer dearly, but the billionaires will be just fine! And remember, in only six days, the stock market lost in earnings $11 trillion!

Don’t trust Trump. He knows nothing about tariffs. He knows nothing about economics; in fact, he knows nothing about governing the U.S. Some 77+ Americans voted for this man, and now all Americans must suffer through four years of this obnoxious person!

Recently, four U.S. soldiers died during a training mission in Lithuania.

“Lithuania honored and bid farewell to the fallen U.S. soldiers. For the Lithuanian people, it feels like a loss of our own.”

Lithuania’s president, religious leaders, and the people stood in respect as hearses carried the bodies of the four soldiers to the Vilnius airport in Lithuania for transfer to Dover Air Force Base in the U.S.

Where was President Trump? At Dover? No. He skipped the transfer to go to Florida to attend “the Saudi- owned men’s professional golf tournament!” This president is an ignorant, immoral man who lacks empathy for anyone, especially those in the active military and those who served this country of ours!

I hope all veterans who voted for this man to be president now recognize what a mistake they have made!

Abraham Lincoln called our country and its democracy “the jewel of liberty.”

Is it?

To the Editor:

When you elect a clown, expect the circus to come to town. Let’s see some of the fine examples of Donald Trump’s administrative leaders: Linda McMahon, her stated goal is to close the department. Big talk from a woman who was part owner of the WWE when her husband, Vince, was accused of sexual misconduct of female employees.

Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins told us all to raise chickens to cut down the price of eggs. That’s their best idea?

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville said it was good the stock market was losing billions because it was “bloated.”

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordered the removal of mentioning Enola Gay, the name of the plane that dropped the atomic bomb.

The plane was named for the pilot’s mother. I guess at Christmas we won’t be allowed to sing “Don we now our gay apparel.’” J.D. Vance used his 3-year-old daughter as protection against protesters.

J.D., be a man and face your critics; oh that’s right, you are with Trump, hide and call people names.

Marjorie Taylor Greene suggests we all have “measles parties” for children.

Here’s an idea, get the vaccination.

Robert Kennedy Jr. claimed the measles outbreak was from children being malnourished, but he wants to cut SNAP, food stamps and welfare programs.

Lauren Boebert used the word “pimp cane” to describe Al Greene’s walking aid after he protested Trump’s SOTU speech. I guess she would know since she was removed from a public play when she was caught groping her date.

All Republicans avoiding town hall meetings being afraid to face criticism from the people who elected them. Typical Republican strategy — fail and hide.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem admitted she shot a puppy because it misbehaved. As South Dakota governor, she was barred from all Native American lands and reservations.

John Fetterman is a fake Democrat. Come on, John, get some courage and change your party affiliation. We all know who you support.

The DOGE Bros, who were supposed to work for free, are being paid the highest salary allowed by federal employees. I thought they weren’t government workers. Elon Musk, president, has 14 children with numerous women.

Can you imagine if Kamala Harris had 14 children with multiple men? Why the double-standard?

MAGA Mike Johnson, sitting behind Trump at the SOTU address nodding like a bobble head doll. I guess when you have no spine, you have to agree to everything your cult leader states.

Nazi-salute-giving Musk lying about saving hundreds of billions of dollars when in reality he has saved less than $10 billion. If Musk and the DOGE Bros are doing so well in finding fraud, why has no one been arrested or charged with fraud yet?

We all need to keep a watch on this clown show in Washington, D.C. I’ll keep watching after I get back from the measles party.
