Jo Ann ‘Nick’ Nicodemus – Carroll Township

CARROLL TOWNSHIP Jo Ann “Nick” Nicodemus, 88, of Carroll Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025. She was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Martinsburg, W. Va . , the daughter of the late John and Thelma Rice Scarlett. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and from The Sisters of Holy Ghost College in Martinsburg, W.Va., where she received her degree as a registered nurse. Jo Ann was a member of Monongahela Valley Country Club and St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi. She retired from the former Monongahela Valley Hospital with more than 40 years of service as a registered nurse/supervisor. She is survived by her two sons, Darren (Christine) Nicodemus of Bethel Park and Damon (Audrey) Nicodemus of Carroll Township; four grandchildren, Derek, Danielle, Rachel and Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren, Bryson, Landon, Eli, Theo, Wyatt, Aria and Remi. In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Nick” Nicodemus; and her brother, Norman Scarlett. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
