Local road crews dealing with long hours, dwindling salt supplies

Road crews have been working around the clock over the last couple weeks.

Due to the winter weather and frigid temperatures, it’s been a busy time for Mon Valley road crews.

Timothy Cermak, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Moon Township, said snowflakes flew every day for the first 16 days of January. However, only 11 of those days had significant snowfall.
