• Donora Council approved a new budget for 2014 that does not raise real estate taxes. This did not mean that Donora was on a good financial footing. One major concern is the knowledge that the Poly-One Plastics plant was slated to close in the coming year. Each laid-off employee cost the borough $52 in local services tax, plus a half percent wage tax.
