Donna Jean Goodrum

SUTERSVILLE, FORMERLY OF PLEASANT HILLS Donna Jean Goodrum, 77, of Sutersville, Pa., formerly of Pleasant Hills, Pa., passed peace fully in her husb and’s loving arms at home on Thurs day, Dec. 5, 2024, after a very long battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 3, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the daughter of the late Eugene and Helen Guatell Yeager. Donna served as the vice president of human resources for Basic Carbide Corporation, where her leadership, dedication and unwavering commitment shaped the organization for decades. Donna was a trusted advisor and an integral part of the company’s success. She was a stockholder and proudly served on the board of directors. Donna was a beloved and long-standing member of Youghiogheny Country Club, where she built lifelong friendships and contributed significantly to the club’s vibrant community. Her presence at the club was marked by her warmth, generosity and her love for connecting with others. She loved all sports, especially anything Pittsburgh. Her love of sports extended to her family, where she found immense joy in watching her children and grandchildren excel in the sports they loved. Above all, family was everything to Donna. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was also a former senior regent officer at Sutersville Moose Lodge 1358. She was the glue of her family, loved everyone and will be greatly missed by all. Donna is survived by her husband, John Paul Goodrum; children, Jennifer (Brian) Sampson of Sutersville, Pa., and Jonathan Paul (Marsha Simonds) Goodrum of Elizabeth, Pa.; grandsons, Brice (Melissa) Sampson, Jack Sampson, Ari Paul Goodrum, Lucas Simonds and Jackson Simonds; brother, Michael (Jill) Yeager of Rostraver, Pa.; and brotherin- law, Thomas Perkins of Rockville, Va. Family and friends will gather Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, and Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, from 2 to 7 p.m. at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-6786177). Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in the family mausoleum.
