MONESSEN HOLDS CLEANUP DAY

The City of Monessen hosted cleanup activities Nov. 2, which focused on the downtown areas of Donner and Schoonmaker avenue streets and side streets. There was also a collection of used appliances and electronics from residents at the City Garage on Parente Boulevard. The event was organized and chaired by Council member Karen Cosner, and assisted by Council member Lois Thomas, along with the help of volunteers. The event was also structured under the guidance and direction of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s MS4 Storm System program, and the City of Monessen’s ongoing cleanup agenda. Shown at left are volunteers, Cherie Letterio of the Orchard Christian Church of Monessen and Robert Cosner of Monessen.
