Jane Ross Yelanich

BALDWIN, FORMERLY OF DONORA AND CARROLL TOWNSHIP Jane Ross Yelanich, 76, formerly of Donora and Carroll Township, Pa., now of Baldwin. She is survived by her daugh ter, Jenn ifer Zofcin, son- inl a w , Walter Zofcin, and grandchildren, Ross Zofcin and Brady Zofcin all of Baldwin; sister and brother-in-law, Kay Hayward and Harry Hayward of Greensburg; and her longtime companion, Gale Campbell of Harrison City. She is also survived by niece, Amy (Thomas) Rodgers and Gunnar, Grayson and Gannon Rodgers of Greensburg, and niece by marriage Jennifer Hayward and Remi and Winni Hayward of Sewickley. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Fred A. Ross Jr. and Mary “Billie” Ross of Donora; her nephew, Christopher Hayward of Sewickley; her mother-in-law, Laura Caugherty of Blairsville; and her husband, Stephen Yelanich of Carroll Township. Jane started her work life early, serving ice cream in her family’s pharmacy and ice cream counter known as Ross Quality Pharmacy in Donora. She worked most of her career as a teacher of English, public speaking, stage crew and drama in the Ringgold School District. Outside of her teaching duties, Jane was a helper to students experiencing academic or life challenges and as a union steward and officer in her local of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. Jane was a devoted mother to Jennifer and grandmother to Ross and Brady. After retiring, she enjoyed sailing, camping and snowbirding to
