Military officers warn of dictatorship if Trump elected

The United States Armed Forces have a time-honored tradition, undergirded by constitutional principles, of avoiding active participation in politics. Soldiers, sailors and airmen answer to civilian authorities, but they don’t run for political office or participate in campaigns or endorse candidates. They swear an oath to the U.S. Constitution, and they are duty-bound to answer to whoever wins the presidency.
