• The history of Perryopolis told through an extensive display of artifacts was on display at the opening of the Old State Bank Museum as part of a bicentennial celebration. Noreen Halvonik, Perryopolis’s Parks and Recreation treasurer and a member of the bicentennial committee, said, “We are overjoyed to have completed it.” The idea of transforming the century-old building into a museum originated five years ago by local resident Gladys Powell. During its history, the building, built in 1816, has been a bank, a post office, a school and a medical office before sitting empty for almost 30 years.
