Ernest A. Lutz – California, Pa.

Ernest A. Lutz, 91, of California, Pa., died Tuesday, June 25, 2024. He was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Richeyville, Pa., son of the late Andrew and Mary Kovach Lutz. Ernie was an avid outdoorsman and dog trainer. He was a lifelong member of the California Hill Gun Club. He will be missed by the bird dog community. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen plant. Ernie proudly served our country in the Army. In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Lutz; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Lutz; and grandson, Ryan Givens. Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Bruce Lutz of California, Sharon Bizzozero of Belle Vernon and Michelle Meneskie of Long Branch. Also surviving are grandchildren, Shannon (Ron) Jankowski, Lucas (Kristie) Zelina; and great-grandchildren, Alexandria Jankowski, Zaria Zelina Nicholas, and Taylor and Emma Diederick. Friends will be received at MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, when funeral services will begin at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Amory Merriman officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
