Slagus, Leps hoping experience pays off next season

With the WPIAL basketball championships finishing up today, it’s a good time to look back at how schools across the Mon Valley fared. Many programs throughout the area made deep runs into the district playoffs and came up just short of a championship, but have more opportunities for glory in the state playoffs. Serra Catholic girls basketball came up just short in the WPIAL Class 2A championship, falling to Greensburg Central Catholic, 62-41. District semi finalists that just missed out on a trip to the Petersen Events Center include Thomas Jefferson boys basketball, McKeesport girls basketball and Elizabeth Forward girls basketball.
