Helen Zelinski, 98, of New Eagle, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, at the Residence at Hilltop, Carroll Township She was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Sykesville. Mrs. Zelinski graduated from Sykesville High School and played on the girl’s basketball team. She was a former custodian at the First Presbyterian Church in Monongahela. Mrs. Zelinski was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela, the New Eagle AARP and the New Eagle Community Action Group. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and vacationing with her family every year. She is survived by a son, John (Joan) Zelinski of Pipe Creek, Texas; daughter, Mary Ann Zelinski of Charleroi; two grandsons, Jason and Jarrod Zelinski; and a great-granddaughter, Jacy Zelinski; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Zelinski, who died Nov. 3, 1998; and a brother, Art Molnar. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held at 3 p.m. Interment will be private in the Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
