Late free throws sink Jaguars’ title hopes

No matter what the WPIAL seedings may have indicated, the best that Class 5A has to offer in No. 1 Moon and No. 4 Thomas Jefferson faced off Monday night in a thrilling district semifinal that came down to the very last shot. After Moon’s Aiden Reesman missed two free throws with less than a minute to play and allowed the Jaguars (21-4) to tie the game at 65-65, he was given a chance at redemption and seized it, winning the game 67-65 with a pair of free throws after a foul call on Brody Evans with 6.5 seconds remaining.
