Gail F. Baumgardner, 85, of Monessen, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, in Mon Valley Care Center. Born in Monessen on Dec. 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose Zoretich Francis. She was a graduate of Monessen High School and received an associate degree from Robert Morris College. She was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church and Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 194. Gail worked for many years in Oranges Department Store in Charleroi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J Baumgardner. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Shawn Reed of Coraopolis, Pa.; a son, Eric Baumgardner of Monessen; two grandchildren, Omar and Olivia Baumgardner, both of Fairfax, Va., and her loving “second daughter,” Stacie Balf of Monessen. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at ROBERT A BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen. A blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Carroll Township. Online condolences can be left at www.billicksfuneralhome.com.
