Dorothy E. Pozum Rodgers – Belle Vernon
Dorothy E. Pozum Rodgers, 84, of Belle Vernon, Fairhope, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at her home. Born April 2, 1939, in North Charle- roi, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Olga Oleynik Pozum. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Rodgers was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was a retired executive secretary for the former Fox Grocery and C.E. Lummus Co. Dorothy was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, Cokeburg Lodge 354, the St. George Adult Tamburitzans and was honored as Woman of the Year by the CFU Four County Lodge. She was a past member of the Mon Valley Quilt Club, Red Hat Society in Florida, a founding member and officer with her husband of the Serro Scotty Club and founding member of CAS as dispatcher and EMT. She is survived by her husband, Negley “Ted” Rodgers Jr., to whom she was married for 66 years; son and daughter-in-law, Negley “Ted” Rodgers III and wife Ruth Ann of Belle Vernon; daughter, Nadine Davis and fiancé Vincent Manetta of Belle Vernon; daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ann and Edward Pazo Jr. of Jefferson Hills; eight grandchildren, Blair Rodgers, Negley Rodgers IV, Lauren Sullivan, Shane Davis, Ryan Davis, Abbey Davis, Alexandra Pazo and Edward Pazo III; four great-grandchildren, Negley Rodgers V, Riley Rodgers, Peter Sullivan and Elliot Davis; and fur baby dog, Maja. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Pozum Jr.; sister, Lillian Laird; and a son-in-law, Kim Davis. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The St. George Tamburitzans will have a prayer service and perform in memory of Dorothy at 7:15 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
