Cathy Ann Yurkovich, 71, of Rostraver Township, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2024. Born in North Charleroi on Sept. 23, 1952, she was the daughter of Lillian C. Dudro Beattie, who survives and resides in Charleroi, and the late William L. Beattie. Cathy was well known and loved by everyone in the community. She was a substitute teacher in the Monessen and Belle Vernon Area school districts, and most recently in the Ringgold School District. Cathy had a deep love for all animals, especially her beloved pets, her cats, Winston and Salem, and her dogs, Chili and Tequila, who are deceased. She also enjoyed thrift shopping because she loved to get a great deal! Cathy loved spending time with friends and family, but more than anything, she absolutely cherished any chance she got to spend time with her grandchildren, who were the absolute loves of her life. She will leave a void and be deeply loved and missed by all who knew her. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, David (Melanie) Yurkovich Jr. of Florida, Tara (Nicholas) Hryadil of Kennedy Township, Corey (Julie) Yurkovich of Rostraver Township, Heather (David) Fidanzato of Carroll Township and Ryan (Alicia) Yurkovich of Rostraver Township; her grandchildren, Hailee and Callum Yurkovich, Evalyn Hryadil, Bradley, Cora and Carter Yurkovich, Audreena and Sterling Yurkovich and David Fidanzato III; and the father of Cathy’s five children, David B. Yurkovich Sr. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Tim Burgan officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to ASPCA, www.aspca.org.
