Donations roll in for victims of Christmas Eve fire in Donora

A devastating fire on McKean Avenue in Donora on Christmas Eve has rocked four families, and the community has banded together to try to offer what help it can. Before dawn on Dec. 24, James Smith and Tracy Honabarger’s home broke out into a massive blaze that also impacted Diane and Robert Brown, whose house has water damage, Renee Brooks, who had to move to a hotel, and Lavonne Pope, who had to move into her brother’s home with her 9-year-old daughter. Smith and the Honabarger children have also found housing while they recover.
