Charleroi street crew employee promoted back to foreman role

Nearly a year after being stripped of his title as street foreman in Charleroi Borough, Brooks Fox has reclaimed his supervisory role in the street department.
During last night’s council meeting, Fox was named supervisor in a 5-2 vote.
Council members Randy DiPiazza, Paul Pivovarnik, Nancy Ellis, Frank Paterra and Jerry Jericho all agreed to promote Fox, while councilmen Larry Celaschi and Joe Smith both preferred another candidate and voted against it.
“I’m happy to have the title back that I was stripped of,” Fox told the MVI Wednesday. “It’s nice to know that a majority of council still has the confidence in me to do the job that I was originally hired for, and that I’ve been doing for the last 10 months, regardless of not being recognized for doing so.
“I’m just happy that I can continue to do the very best that I can for the taxpayers and citizens of Charleroi. I love this town as much as I do the one I lived in for 51 years. I’ve met some fantastic people here, and am proud to call them friends.”
