Area Boy Scout receives Hometown USA Award

After an impressive service project at the Elizabeth Borough Veterans Memorial over the summer, Elizabeth’s Steven Poorman earned the Hometown USA Award through Keep America Beautiful Inc. and Boy Scouts of America. Poorman, a member of Boy Scout Troop 284 in Irwin, spent hours planning the cleanup of the monument and went through with the plans over several days during the summer with the help of others from his troop.
