Bentworth posts upset to clinch semifinal berth

Coming into their Class 1A boys soccer quarterfinal contest against No. 2 Sewickley Academy, No. 7 Bentworth was known for its potent offense that has produced 112 goals, second most in the WPIAL. But against the Panthers, it was the Bearcats’ defense that led the charge as the upset-minded Bentworth squad shut out the Section 1-1A champions, 5-0, at Avonworth’s Lenzner Field Wednesday night.
