By obits

Anna “Annie” Prodan, a loving, funny and faith-filled woman, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sept. 11, 2023, in Groveport, Ohio. Born on March 14, 1930, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Anna Buber and George Lechman. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Lechman Brentzel; and by her loving husband, Russell Prodan, in 2003 after 53 years of marriage. Together they built a beautiful life and family. Annie is survived by her two devoted daughters, Sandra Prodan of Denver, Colo., and Cynthia Prodan of Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Her love for her family was boundless, and she took great pride in their accomplishments. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on through her daughters. Annie was awarded the “Operator in a Beauty Shop” certificate in 1947 and began employment at the Vogue Beauty Salon in McKeesport. She also worked for 26 years as an operating room technician at the McKeesport Hospital. In this role, she demonstrated her commitment to helping others and provided invaluable support to the medical staff and patients alike. Annie’s spirit of love and laughter was infectious. Her ability to find humor in the everyday was a gift that she generously shared with all who knew her. As a woman of deep faith, she lived her life with grace and gratitude, inspiring those around her to do the same. She was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport and St. Stephen’s Byzantine Catholic Church in North Huntingdon. Annie’s passing is a significant loss to all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit, unwavering faith and contagious laughter will be deeply missed. However, her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a remarkable woman who lived her life to the fullest. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
