Dolores A. Zihar – Monongahela

By obits

Dolores A. Zihar, 83, of Monongahela was called home to the Lord on Sept. 23, 2023. Born in Brownsville on April 1, 1940, she most recently lived in Palm Harbor, Fla., working for Pinellas County before moving back to the Mon Valley in 2010. “Dee,” as everyone called her, was a beloved friend to many and always quick to strike up a conversation. Her great joy (and incredible talent) was found in hosting and entertaining for any occasion, large or small.  These special times always afforded the opportunity to showcase her fantastic cooking and baking skills. Dee will be remembered as generous, welcoming and witty. She was a lover of animals, polkas and ice cream. Dee was Catholic by faith, a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi. She is survived by her brother Charles Paydo (Barbara) of Monongahela, brother Walter Paydo (Annette) of Charleroi, several nieces and nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Zihar, her parents, Charles and Mary Paydo, and many beloved pets.
