As September is just about halfway over, Wednesday’s council meeting unofficially served as a preview for some of Monongahela’s fall events.
The city’s trick-or-treating, Halloween parade and other events were topics of discussion among residents and council members.
Amy Leavor, secretary of the Monongahela Main Street Program, gave an overview to council of Avenue of the Hanging of the Jack o’ Lanterns, which will take place at Dead Head Winery Oct. 21. For the first time in its six years, the Main Street Program event will include a pumpkin bocce roll, which costs $10 per person.
Mayor Greg Garry announced that the annual Monongahela Area Chamber of Commerce Halloween parade will be held 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25.
He also announced that the city’s trick-or-treat will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28.
