William E. Hisiro – Speers

William E. Hisiro, 75, of Speers, passed away peacefully on Aug. 6, 2023, in the Concordia Donnell House. Born in North Charleroi on May 15, 1948, Bill was the son of the late William Hisiro and his mother, Helen Herent Hisiro, who survives. Bill graduated from Charleroi High School, Class of 1966. Following high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a brakeman for the railroad for over 30 years until his retirement. A member of American Legion Post 22 in Charleroi, Bill enjoyed his retirement watching scary movies, westerns and reading Stephen King novels. His sense of humor was always on display, especially while watching his beloved Steelers, Penguins and Pirates with his friend and brother-in-law, Ozzie. Surviving to cherish Bill’s memory are his mother, Helen Herent Hisiro, whom he loved dearly; his daughter, Zoe Gaussoin and her mother, Sally; two grandsons, Devin and Hunter Evans; his sister, Karen (Ozzie) Gavazzi; nephews, Brian Gavazzi and Justin (Emily) Gavazzi; and numerous cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Hisiro. Friends and family will be received at HOGAN MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME, 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022, from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to any veterans or military charity of your choice.
