Andrew James “Spanky” Skirpan, 80, of Greensburg, formerly of Washington and Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Excela Health, Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born Feb. 10, 1943, in New Eagle, he was the son of the late Andrew Skirpan and Helen Dutko Skirpan Owens and stepfather, Thomas Raymond Owens. A resident of Greensburg for the past 26 years, Spanky was Catholic by faith and was a retired salesman from B. Bogdewic Automotive and Kelly Auto Parts. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Tuthill Skirpan, to whom he was married for 20 years; son, James Skirpan; daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Scott Coite; stepson, David Shindhelm and wife Julie; mother-in-law, Pat; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Coite; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving sister and brother-in-law, Gerry and Harry Shallenberger; and two stepbrothers, Earl and Raymond Owens. A private family visitation and funeral services were held at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183.
