Supreme Court ends affirmative action in college admissions

The Supreme Court struck down affirmative action in college admissions in a landmark decision handed down Thursday. The court ruled that admissions practices at Harvard and the University of North Carolina, the nation’s oldest private and public colleges respectively, violate the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause.
