Robert E. Guffey – Clearfield, formerly of Elizabeth

Robert E. Guffey, 89, of Clearfield, formerly of Elizabeth, died Thursday, May 18, 2023.  Born in Clairton on Aug. 20, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Grace Garlitz Guffey. Robert worked in the office for a trucking company for many years and later worked for the Elizabeth Forward School District. He was a member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church. He had been a member of Stephen Bayard Masonic Lodge No. 526 F&AM and was currently a member of the Curwensville Noble Lodge No. 480 F&AM and had recently received his 50-year pin. Robert loved mowing grass and going to his son’s camp! He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his sons, Robert C. (Linda) Guffey of Elizabeth, John C. (Valerie) Guffey of Forward Township, Ernest E. (Amy) Guffey of Clearfield, Timothy C. Guffey of Elizabeth, and James W. (Stephanie) Guffey of Castle Shannon; grandchildren, Amanda (Randy) Ludwick, Robert (Olivia) Guffey, Jessica Guffey, Christopher Guffey, Joshua Guffey, Emily Guffey, Benjamin Guffey, Franklin Minicucci, John Minicucci and Michael (Haylee) Minicucci; great-grandchildren, Adreana, Maverick, Angelo, Aubrie, Jayla, Maria, Jaxson, Stella and Victoria. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Opfer Guffey, in 2016. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Sandra E. Fitzgibbons officiating.  Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
