John ‘Bud’ Perunko – Donora

John “Bud” Perunko, 92, Donora, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his home, with his loving family by his side. He was born April 29, 1930, in Donora, son of the late John Perunko and the late Margaret Buckeye Perunko. He was a member of the former St. Dominic Parish and enjoyed singing in the church choir with his wife, Alberina. Bud was an avid reader, gardener and Steelers fan. He enjoyed fly fishing and hunting with his buddies at Camp Lullu Belle. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alberina Capozza Perunko; and his daughter, Jayne F. Tordi. Surviving to cherish his memory are his four children, Soo (Gary) Greco of Charleroi, Tracy (Wade) Francis of Donora, Jack Perunko of Rostraver Township and Mark (Mary) Perunko of Charleroi; grandchildren, Ryan Painter, David (Sherry) Martinelli, Jonathan (Sara) Klein, Jessica (Pete) Bahl and Anne Perunko; and five great-grandchildren. A very special thank you to Bud’s “Buddies,” caregivers, Amber Tirpak, Natalie Cianciullo, Natalie Cochran and Mary Jericho. Their love and support kept John’s ship afloat. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Extension, Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2023. A blessing service will be held at 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
