Darius Lamont Wade, 28, of Selinsgrove Center, Selinsgrove, Pa., was taken away from us far too soon on Friday, April 21, 2023. How blessed we were to have had 28 years of life with such a loving and caring young man. Darius touched so many lives and will truly be missed by all. He was born on July 28, 1994, to Chris Patterson Taylor and Curtis L. Wade at Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township, Pa. “D,” as he was so affectionately called by many, attended Rochester School District. He was very competitive and loved sports. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved riding quads and bikes, wearing hats and sunglasses, watching movies and listening to music. In addition to his parents, Curtis Wade and Chris Taylor, Darius leaves to cherish his memory his stepmother, Amy Wade of Belle Vernon; and stepfather, Frances Taylor of Pittsburgh; sisters and brothers, Candace Wade of Belle Vernon, Alonzo Wade of Belle Vernon, Curtis L. Wade Jr. of Belle Vernon, Curtis Pidich Jr. of Monessen, Jena King of Perryopolis and Zhane Simms of South Park, Pa.; grandmother, Wendy Wade of Monessen; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen, PA 15062 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at which time funeral services will begin with Pastor Maurice Wade Jr. of Whole Truth Church of God In Christ, 1004 McKean Ave., Donora, PA 15033, giving the eulogy. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to William R. Taylor Funeral Home, 645 McMahon Ave., Monessen, PA 15062, 724-684-4877, Trudy L. Taylor, director in charge. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any monetary gifts to be made to the funeral home to help with the expenses for Darius Wade’s funeral.
