Constance Mae Kwapien – Coal Center

Constance Mae Kwapien, 92, of Coal Center, died peacefully at home on Monday, April 10, 2023. She was born Saturday, June 14, 1930, in Daisytown, the daughter of the late John and Susan Daniels Mucko. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charleroi and the National Slovak Society. Connie loved to sing, polka and life on her farm. She also loved building puzzles, cutting grass, her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, John Gech (1973) and Edward Kwapien (2004); two brothers, Julius “Duke” Mucko and Donald Mucko; and her loving aunt, Margaret Brewer. Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, John and Louann Gech of Coal Center; and granddaughters, Heather Tyhonas (the late Jason Tyhonas) and Bri Gech (Sean Solomon). Also surviving are her beloved great-grandchildren, Colin Tyhonas, Cole Tyhonas, Presley Solomon and Addison Solomon; and her loving cousin, Shirley Zippay. Friends will be received at MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 5 p.m. with Chaplin Henry Frain officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of her family.
