Nino J. Pansino, 74, of Charleroi, Carroll Township, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023, surrounded by his children. Born Aug. 8, 1948, in Sambiase Catanzaro, Italy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jean Broggi Pansino. After his graduation in 1966 from the former Mon Valley Catholic High School, Nino enlisted and served two years in the U.S. Army’s 9th infantry division during Vietnam. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Monongahela and always looked forward to spending time and meeting friends for breakfast or dinner. With his late wife, Mary, they owned VCSI Wholesale Distributors, the former North Charleroi Foodland, Save-Mor Groceries and Valley Vending Co. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Carrie Pansino of West Newton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Brian Daniele of Greensburg and Gina and Jason Arzberger of Hopewell Township; two brothers, Jerry (Rita) Sinopoli and Frank Pansino; a sister, Shelly Pansino; his six grandchildren whom he adored, William, Andrew, Marianna, Lucia, Vincenzo and Mary; and two brothers-in-law, William (Vida) Carnazza and Sal and Mary Jo Carnazza of New York. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. Carnazza Pansino, who died June 27, 2013. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-676, from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Blessing prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Monongahela. Entombment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post No. 22 in Charleroi.
