The amazing egg: Mother Nature’s perfect invention

This time of the year is inextricably linked with eggs. Since ancient times, eggs have been seen as a symbol of fertility and the spring. In traditional farming, this was a time of year, when chickens became “broody” and produced new chicks to grow their flock. Springtime is also the time that the birds in the woods and fields of the Mon Valley lay their eggs to produce the next generation of their species.
