Day of prayer in McKeesport focuses on shooting deaths

After a tumultuous month in the city, McKeesport’s Community Partnership for HIV Awareness Volunteer Council held its 18th annual Day of Prayer for Healing Saturday at Zion Baptist Church. Community leaders joined in prayer and worship throughout the afternoon, calling on one other to work together and build unity. The council has fought for years to raise awareness and eliminate stigmas around HIV treatment and testing. During Saturday’s event, volunteers offered free walk-in testing in the church’s basement.
