West Pike Run Township gets donation for new K-9 officer training
By the MVI
The West Pike Run Township’s new K-9 officer received a financial boost to assist in training and equipment thanks to the generosity of a township business.
The West Pike Run Township supervisors and police department announced they received community funding from Sutch and Sons Deer Processing in Daisytown for the training and equipping of new police K-9 tracking and detection dog “Rosie.”
Business owner Jim Sutch donated $1,500 to the township. Rosie will be certified to industry standards through the American Working Dog Council when she completes training. Rosie will be used for lost and missing persons and criminal apprehension detection. Rosie is replacing K-9 officer “Dolly,” who retired in 2022.
