Rose M. ‘Sissy’ Barna – Donora

Rose M. “Sissy” Barna, 71, of Donora, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at Havencrest Nursing Center. She was born April 3, 1951, in New Eagle, daughter of Clyde and Emma Richards Anderson. For many years, Sissy was employed at McDonald’s in Monongahela and The Maids Cleaning Service in Bethel Park. She retired in 2007 from the Residence at Hilltop, where she worked in housekeeping and laundry. Her grandchildren were her life and meant the world to her. She is survived by her husband, William C. Barna, with whom she celebrated 49 years of marriage on June 2, 2022; daughter, Carey Armstrong and husband Ray of West Elizabeth; son, W. Michael Barna of Donora; and five grandchildren, Austin, Alex and Madison Barna of Monongahela, Mathew Armstrong of West Elizabeth and Nicole Armstrong and fiancé Keith Gomez of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
